Pavement Slurry Seal

Slurry Schedule for September Released

Residents in several areas of Danville will be seeing temporary street closures and work over the next two weeks as crews work to finish up the season's worth of slurry seal. Most streets will be done in a day, while a few will be split up over two days.

Civil Engineering Associate Guillermo Santolaya said there are three issues residents should be aware of in the course of the work.

1.  Trash pickup will occur as normal. Republic Services is aware of the work and will act accordingly.
2.  Some areas may see 'No Parking' signs up ahead of the slurry date. This allows the contractor to get needed work done prior to slurrying.
3.  Road closures will not occur before 8:00 a.m.

Crews are gearing up for another summer season of slurry seal, repairs and pavement rehabilitation. Once the 2016 season came to a close, we began examining the road surfaces throughout Town to determine which should be worked on in 2017.  The result is a long list of dozens of streets in Danville, and a $5.3 million project that will last all summer. On the right side of the page, look under documents to see which streets will be worked on this year.

Preparatory to a major re-striping project set up for later this month, crews on July 21, 2016 will be paving and sealing Danville Boulevard from Railroad Avenue to El Cerro Boulevard. Work will begin at 7:30a.m. and go through the evening hours as they attempt to finish the entire stretch in one day. During the work, traffic control will be in place and two way traffic will be maintained. Residents who live in the homes along that section of the roadway will still have access to their homes.
