During a rainstorm in December 2014, a 40-foot section of the creek bank abutting Front Street in downtown Danville slid into rain-swollen San Ramon Creek. The landslide undermined a joint utility pole along Front Street and caused a road sign to topple. Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) rearranged the wires to the utility pole and emergency work was done to provide temporary stability to the area, but a longer term solution was needed.
The current project includes, but is not limited to, improving the slope stability where landslides occur and improve habitat in the project area.
